The most powerful individual Tweet of 2010 has been identified as coming from reporter Ann Curry, who encouraged the US Air Force to allow Doctors Without Borders to fly into Haiti after the massive earthquake that devastaged that nation. Other powerful individual Tweets include one from a seriously injured bike rider in need of assistance; a spoof message purporting to be from BP in the wake of the Gulf Oil spill; an official announcement of Prince William’s engagement to Kate Middleton; and the resignation of Sun Microsystem’s CEO, Jonathan Schwartz.
