King Charles (Prince Charles) in Yorkshire – Tuhel Miah showed him how to access the Internet

Past, present and future: The Prince of Wales (King Charles) looks out on Saltaire, near Bradford, yesterday from a window in one of the Hockney art galleries at Salts Mill with owner Jonathan Silver. The revitalisation of the former textile mill is an example of the sort of initiative Prince Charles is encouraging to safeguard the future of buildings that form part of our industrial heritage.

Earlier, the prince dodged the rain to try his hand at surfing the net – in a Cyber Cafe. He was helped through the computer maze by a young entrepreneur who started the futuristic cafe with the help of a loan from the Prince;s Trust. Tuhel Miah, 23, showed him how to access the Internet on one of five computers in the cafe, which was officially opened yesterday.

Prince Charles finished the day’s engagements at the Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract. Today he will address the national conference of the Institute of Personnel and Development in Harrogate.
